Education Department

Located in the Ikoyi-Obalende area are various public and private schools. There are Eleven (11) Primary Schools, Ten (10) Junior Secondary Schools and Ten (10) Senior Secondary Schools.

Working towards the adminiatration’s sustainable development goal of ensuring every child in Ikoyi Obalende gets educated, the department procures writing materials for all public primary schools in the LCDA. Not stopping at that, Back to school kits are distributed to students of the LCDA in order to encourage continuity in their study.

Several sensitization programmes are been conducted across the LCDA, the dept also ensures the LCDA is well represented when it comes to sporting activities.

Different competitions are being organized at various levels and conferences are also organized in order to keep the teachers updated.

Mrs. Ajayi Folake Adetoun – Head of Department

Mrs. Ajayi is a seasoned educationist and is very passionate about the development of effective educational methods but also ensures a very high standard is maintained across board. She is the chief adviser on all issues bordering on education and policy execution.

About the LCDA


Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area was carved out of the old Eti-Osa Local Government Area.

The council with territorial size of 28square kilometres has an estimated population of about three hundred and forty two thousand (342,000) inhabitants, made up of predominantly Yorubas, Ibos and Hausas.
