Public Affairs Unit

The Public Affairs Unit is responsible for presenting the Council’s objectives, decisions and actions in their true and most wanted perspective, contributing to the awareness of all stakeholders about council activities. The department also releases information on major events and functions.

The Information unit of Ikoyi Obalende LCDA takes charge of information dissemination both within and outside the council by creating awareness and ensuring all messages get the necessary attention needed.

To effectively carry out its duties, the unit classified its activities into 4 segments:

  • Media Relations/Publicity
  • Events Coordination and Management
  • Public Relations
  • Public Enlightenment and Awareness

Mrs. Jimoh Sharafat Amoke – Head of Unit

Mrs. Jimoh serves to advice the council on matters relating to information dissemination, ensures all press releases and publications are accurate and reflect the true nature of the subject matter.

Her unit is the official receptor for feedback in the council.

About the LCDA


Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area was carved out of the old Eti-Osa Local Government Area.

The council with territorial size of 28square kilometres has an estimated population of about three hundred and forty two thousand (342,000) inhabitants, made up of predominantly Yorubas, Ibos and Hausas.
